Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I’m a big fan of A.W. Tozer, and the other day I was reading his work the Pursuit of God. Tozer writes “Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So, one hundred worshipers who meet together, each one looking to Christ; those worshipers are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.” Bingo. It is true for a body of believers, and it’s true in any relationship. Do you want to be of one accord with your spouse, your friends? Tune your heart to Christ, then, and pray that they will do the same. Then you cannot help but enjoy a deeper fellowship with those you already love.
