Whenever you’re having trouble remembering things, know that the peace of God will always guard your mind.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and sometimes my mind runs way ahead of me – frantic thoughts, racing here and there. Well, when my mind feels hurried and harried, I think of Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything … and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Okay, but how can this verse comfort those whose thoughts run at a different pace? My friend Linda for instance, suffered a stroke, leaving her with a memory that goes at a slower pace. For her, remembering her alphabet can be a challenge. But it’s why Linda loves those comforting words from Philippians 4. God guards her mind – yes, even her forgetful mind. So, friend, when you’re having trouble remembering things or keeping yourself from remembering too much, know that the peace of God will always guard your mind.
