A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

A Beautiful Quiet

Episode Summary

Whatever you’re facing right now, don’t be ashamed if you feel you have no strength or resources. That’s the best time to present to God what you lack so that he can supply his strength.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I will be the first one to admit that I am a very weak person – weak physically and, yes, weak spiritually. The other day I was having such a painful time in my wheelchair; I’m not kidding, I found myself collapsing into the arms of Jesus, at least five times in one afternoon, crying out for his help and strength. And you know what? He gave it! It’s why I love Psalm 46:10 where it says, “Be still and know that I am God.” A Hebrew scholar once told me that the Hebrew word for “be still” means “to be weak or to let go, to release.” So I guess you could paraphrase that verse and say “let yourself become weak and you will know God’s power in your life.” Friend, whatever adversity you are facing right now, do not be ashamed if you feel you have no strength or resources. That’s the best time to present to God what you lack so that he can supply his strength.
