Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And have you ever been in a relationship where you feel like the person doesn’t know you well enough, when they should? Like your husband gave you a box of chocolates—and he should know that you don’t like sweets. Or your friend invited you to a concert on Friday night, when she ought to know that you work late on weekends. It’s happened to us all. And I think it happens to God, too. After all our many Bible studies and spiritual disciplines, I wonder if he thinks we should know him better. Well, 2 Peter 1 in The Living Bible says: “Do you want more and more of God’s kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better.” Oh friend, get to know the God you claim to love. Let your times in His Word and prayer tell you more about His character—that is knowing him. And guess what? It’s the secret to an intimate relationship with Jesus. Get to know Him better and better.
