Today, speak hope into your soul; remind yourself that Jesus is your help.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And oftentimes, when hardships hit, we Christians try to put on a brave face. Kristy, a woman I know, recently wrote to me about this. “Joni,” she said, “I try to be optimistic and say that everything happens for a reason—to trust in Romans 8 that tells me my multiple sclerosis is for my good—but lately, I’ve been questioning who I’m saying that for. To be honest, I think I’m trying to convince myself.” Well, friend, that’s a very biblical thing to do. Go ahead; speak truth and hope into your heart! David the psalmist did. When in deep distress, he spoke to himself, “Why are you downcast, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Come on, hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help, and my God.” Today, friend, speak hope into your soul; remind yourself that Jesus is your help. And, hey, let us pray for you as we did for Kristy; write to us at joniandfriends.org.
