Tune in to hear a story about a mother’s love and care for her child in Havana, Cuba. As you have cared for your loved ones, Jesus will also care for you. He will comfort you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I’m always amazed by what a mother will do for her child—take, Aida who carried her disabled son named Lazarus six hours on a bus to reach our Wheels for the World distribution in Havana, Cuba. Lazarus was in desperate need of a wheelchair. And even though he was fifteen years old, Lazarus weighed only twenty pounds at most, he was gaunt and thin. After hours of adjustments, our physical therapist finally lifted Lazarus into his wheelchair. That’s when Aida’s tears began to flow. For at the precise moment that Lazarus was lifted, her burden was lifted. Isaiah 66 says, “As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.” That day, Aida felt the comfort from Jesus that she had for so many years given to her son. Friend, remember Aida’s story if you are asking the Lord to help your loved ones. As you have cared for them, Jesus will also care for you.
