If you’re having a bad day, remember that Christians back then faced jaws of a lion and even then, God got them through it!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you ever had a day when everything [I mean absolutely everything] went wrong? I remember one day I was all ready to get to work when the mechanical lift on my van broke. A dear friend nearby, all nicely dressed for work, had to hand-crank the lift with me on it. It was the same day my corset that helps me breathe snapped a fastener, two people had to cancel important appointments with me, then my computer erased pages of work—and it was also the day I broke my tooth. I tell you, by the end of that afternoon, I was exhausted, I was so upset. But then I remembered the words of Romans 8, when Paul talks about their “present sufferings.” Back then, Christians were thrown to lions, they were crucified and what, here I was upset over a chipped tooth?! Look, if the grace of God could sustain Christians facing the jaws of a lion – you know what? I’m doing okay. And you are, too.
