If you’re looking to be healed, go for the deeper healing.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and when people ask to pray for my healing, I never refuse. Not long ago a visitor came up to me in our church parking lot and asked if he could pray for my healing. He was sincere, so I asked him if he would like to know about some specific things I’d like to be healed from [he got very excited to hear my answer]. And so I told him, “Sir, please ask God to heal me from my bad habit of fudging the truth; to heal me of my stubbornness; I tend to worry and be anxious and I need to be healed of that; please ask God to heal me of my ‘me first’ attitude.” And I went on and on. This visitor got the point. Because this is the deeper healing God is far more interested in [after all, the same Savior who healed blind eyes and hands said, “Gouge out your eye and cut off your hand if it leads you into sin.” That shows God's priorities]. So friend, if you’re looking to be healed, go for the deeper healing.
