We’re not cursed because Christ redeemed you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember once meeting a woman on a flight who used a cane. As we were waiting for everyone to get off the plane, I looked across the aisle and I asked about her situation; she frowned and said, “I just try to do the best I can with this terrible arthritis. It’s like I’ve been cursed.” In the little bit of time we had, I tried to encourage her, but she showed no interest in things of the Lord. Indeed, living in a fallen world like we do, she wasexperiencing the painful crunch of the curse, the curse that fell on all humanity back in the Garden of Eden. But for believers in Jesus, it is quite a different story. Because it says in Romans 8 that there is“no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” No condemnation means … no curse! Christ has redeemed us. He became a curse for you so that he might redeem every bad medical report and lead youto a closer relationship with him.
