Hear a touching story about how God is continuing to cultivate a spirit of care and compassion in children.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when Eric and Alison gave a ‘play’ allowance to their daughter Sarah, this little girl knew what she wanted. She went to the American Girl store to purchase pretty new outfits for her dolls. However, when Sarah got there, she looked around at everything and changed her mind – instead of new outfits, she got a doll-sized wheelchair, little crutches, and a couple of small casts for broken arms and legs. This is one child in whom God is cultivating a true spirit of caring and compassion! The Bible says to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is older, he’ll not depart from it. Eric and Alison praised Sarah for the way she spent her play allowance. And, hey, I'm all for raising disability-awareness in kids' hearts, so perhaps Sarah's story will spark a gift-idea for the little girl in your life – if so, you’ll be fostering a lot of caring and compassion.
