A Glorious Detour

Episode Summary

Sometimes God takes you on a detour for a good and glorious reason.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I’m the sort of person who doesn’t like to cut short a conversation in order to get somewhere on time. Now granted, it puts me behind sometimes, but you know what? Often the most interesting things—miraculous things—can happen when you’re late for something. Just consider what happened when Jesus was late. Like when he was on the way to see Lazarus, his critically ill friend, he was delayed. Or when Jairus asked Jesus to please come heal his sick daughter right away, but then this woman with chronic bleeding interrupted Jesus en route. The result? Lazarus was raised from the dead, and the woman and the little girl were both healed! Now, I’m not encouraging you to cultivate a habit of tardiness; but don’t be quick to fret when things don’t go as planned. Sometimes God has you take a detour for a good and glorious reason. And sometimes that reason is pretty miraculous.
