Though you may not see God’s promises during your time on earth, God will make good on everything he has spoken.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Recently, I was reading the story of Abraham, when I came upon the 12th chapter of Genesis. There the Lord says to Abram, “I will make you into a great nation…And all peoples on the earth will be blessed through you.” Abram [as we know] was not one to “wait on the Lord.” But eventually, he was able to see the promise of a son born to him. Yet he never got to see the great nation, much less, how all peoples on the earth would be blessed through him. He did not envision the nation of Israel or witness the reign of King David. And nor was Abraham there when Jesus was nailed to the cross, the ultimate fulfillment of a blessing to all people. And yet, God was faithful to his word. So, friend, keep waiting on him and his promises to you. Though you may not see them during your time on this earth, God will make good on everything he’s spoken.
