Remember God’s sacrifice – don’t take his love for granted.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love lamb. But when I eat lamb, I often think of Exodus 12, where Moses tells the whole community of Israel that each man is to take a lamb for his family. And then He writes, “The animals you choose must be year-old males… Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people… must slaughter them at twilight.” Think about that. God wanted a family to choose a lamb, bring it into their house, and love and take care of it before killing it! How awful! But such a heart-wrenching sacrifice was the perfect foreshadowing of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ, “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Like that Old Testament lamb that a family grew to love, our love for Christ should cause our hearts to break whenever we think of his sacrifice. So today, don’t take his love or his sacrifice for granted.
