Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I once heard a Christian speaker say, “You can’t develop a life of prayer if you are busy.” Well, it sounds reasonable, but then again, no one was busier than Jesus of Nazareth. The Gospel of Mark illustrates this so well – Jesus was ministering left, right and center, morning, noon and night. But the thing about Jesus was that he obviously had a quiet inner core. Plus, the times we do see him in prayer, his prayers are earnest, and honest, and filled with complete confidence in his father. And the same must be true of us, especially if we are serving hard. So, yes, slow down when you can to cultivate that inner walk of faith, that quiet inner core. But for all the other times you are busy? Well, remember that “Jesus is at the bottom of the laundry basket,” so use even those times to sing a hymn, confess your need, quote a Scripture, and praise your God.
