Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I am so proud of the men and women who serve people affected by disability. I’m thinking of John Lewis who has a big heart for disabled people like me. John serves as a “Chair Corps” volunteer, driving around his community to pick up used but serviceable wheelchairs that are then refurbished and later distributed overseas. He’s even dedicated his tailgate as a mini “billboard” for Wheels for the World! Not only that, for the past few years, John has also been volunteering at our Family Retreats [that is, our camps for special needs families]. In Acts 20 we are told that we “must help the weak.” So, what are you waiting for? There are many ways in which you too can serve people with disabilities right in your own town or city. Just visit joniradio.org to learn more and then check out our Wheels for the World page to discover how we repurpose those wheelchairs.
