Today if you’re facing hardship, please know that God doesn’t intend for you to stay in those dark shadows. You, will by his grace get through it.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Now this may sound silly, but I call Psalm 23 my “dentist-appointment Psalm”! Yup, When I know I’ve got to have Novocain for a root canal and the dentist takes up that big needle? You got it: I start repeating Psalm 23. What one of us hasn’t faced fear head-on by softly quoting that Psalm? “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.” Okay, a root canal is no “valley of the shadow of death,” but I am sure there have been times when you have been in the middle of a dark valley. So, if today, you are facing bankruptcy, eviction or your husband is leaving you or you’ve received a bad medical diagnosis – please know that God does not intend for you to stay in those dark shadows. The valley he has led you into is the same valley out of which he will lead you. You will, by his grace, get through it. That’s a Psalm 23 promise.
