A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

A Second Wind

Episode Summary

When you feel weak, turn to God and let Him be the breath in your lungs.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. As a quadriplegic, I wear a support corset that constrains my abdomen and it helps me to breathe better. But recently, just before giving a message at a college chapel service, I found myself struggling to breathe and speak. My corset just wasn’t doing its thing, and so I prayed, I mean I pleaded for God’s energy and strength. And right as I prayed, the worship team at that school began singing the words: “You’re the breath in my lungs and I pour out my praise…” Oh my goodness! It was just what I needed to hear. When I wheeled up to the platform, I was a transformed woman. And it reminded me of John 20, when Jesus “breathed on the disciples and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” Perhaps today, you feel weak and in need of a second wind. If so, present your needs to your Savior, and inhale fresh grace from the one who is your breath of life.
