Next time you pray, use Scripture as your foundation. You never know what surprise of an answer you will get!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. It had been a long day of travel, and I was feeling pretty down that we had not received the needed funds for a particular disability outreach. My friend Bunny knew I needed a lift, and so in the middle of a crowded airport, she reached for my hand and prayed the words of Joel 2: “Oh Lord, send forth the corn, the wine and the oil. And produce a wonderful crop of blessings.” It was right then when I peeped open my eyes, and oh my goodness—a married couple had snuggled in between us to join us in prayer! And when we finished, the husband folded a $100 bill into Bunny’s hand. Oh, my goodness! The Lord knew we needed renewed trust in him, and he gave us just that through the prayers and generosity of this Christian couple. So, friend, next time you pray, use Scripture as your foundation for prayer—you may be stunned by his surprising answer.
