Episode Summary

If you are tempted to doubt the love of your heavenly father, remember his scars of love for you.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When I was 11 years old, I was walking on a wooden railroad tie, pretending it was a balance beam. To my imagination, this was a gymnastics competition. So, I held my arms out and jumped like gymnasts do. Well, mine was not the ‘perfect 10 landing’— I tripped and fell forward and literally impaled my knee on a railroad spike. Yikes! But my daddy quickly came to the rescue, cleaning out the wound. And you know what? Every time I see that scar on my knee, I’m reminded of my daddy’s tender care and compassion. Revelations 5 speaks about scars. It says, “Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain.” How astounding that Jesus will forever bear his scars — and those scars tell a wonderful story of redemption. So, child of God, if you are tempted to doubt the love of your heavenly father, remember his scars of love for you.
