Let go of your sins today.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, while reading in Deuteronomy, I paused at chapter 21 verse 23 because there it says that “… anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse.” Wow, Jesus hung on a tree, but what does it mean that He was cursed? Well, I know one thing it certainly means: While on the cross, Jesus began to feel a foreign sensation—human wickedness began to crawl upon His spotless being. And the apple of the Father’s eye began to turn brown with the rot of our sin. Then came down wrath from His Father. Neverhad Jesus seen His Father look at Him with such disgust. God’s wrath poured out like hot oil on the wounded heart of Christ. What a terrible curse! Which friend should make us think twice about casual sin or flippantly disobeying? May it never be. So, think twice about holding fast to the very sins that brought that awful curse on Christ. Friend, let go of those sins today.
