When the world presses in on you, get a new vantage point by spending time with Christ the Rock.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And have you ever flown above the Rocky Mountains, when you’re in a quiet airplane 35,000 feet above that massive range? Well, if you have, and if you’ve looked down at the scenery, the world and all its problems sure does feel a little less overwhelming, doesn’t it? You’ve got a different perspective. This is why I like Psalm 61 so much. Especially that verse, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Oh, when our world presses in on us and when deadlines circle like vultures, when commitments and people’s expectations cut into our shoulders like a heavy backpack, we need a vantage point. We need to get above it all. We need to move higher so we can look down on things. God is the Rock that is higher than you or me. So, spend time with Christ the Rock, because when you are in a high place, you can’t help but get a better view on your life.
