Today, let go of sin and you’ll be one step closer to heaven.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I can’t wait to hear those words God will one day say to me, “Joni, enter into the joy of your Master.” Right there tells me that heaven is going to be all about joy. And it should be; after all, Jesus is joyful; he is a glad God. And he’s driven to share that joy with us. In the same way, God is holy – that’s another thing he’s driven to share with us. Heaven is a place of joy and holiness. And God wants us to get a head start on heaven right now by being holy as he is holy, and joyful as he is joyful. True, most people don’t put holiness and gladness together, but to God, they are inseparable — they are one in the same. God is joyful in his holiness. So today, let go of that itchiness to get things your way; in other words friend, let go of sin. You’ll be one step closer to holiness, you’ll be a whole lot more joyful, and you’ll be one step closer to heaven.
