A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

All Life is Spiritual

Episode Summary

With God, all activities in life can be a way of worshiping the Lord – even washing the dishes.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you noticed how some activities seem more spiritual than others? Singing hymns, teaching Sunday school, or preparing a care basket for a sick friend—all of these seem quite noble. But pumping gas, handing coupons to the clerk at the supermarket. Those things seem so ordinary. But we do that, don’t’ we? We separate “religious” activities into one group and “every day” activities into another. But Leviticus 19 addresses this. Because one verse says, “Do not steal,” yet the next verse says, “Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen.” Again, one verse says, “Love your neighbor as yourself” and the verse following it says, “Do not mate different kinds of animals.” The point? With God, all life is spiritual; all of it is sacred; everything you do can [and should] be a way of worshiping the Lord. Remember that the next time you wash dishes.
