If you have a disability, don’t let that keep you from helping others. There’s a place you can serve at joniandfriends.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, a woman named Nancy came by our Joni and Friends office asking if she might be able to help in some way. We could tell she was nervous. You see, Nancy is deaf—and for years, she’s felt incapable of serving in a ministry. It’s why we shared with her 1 Peter 4, where it says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others … If anyone serves, they should do it with the strength God provides.” Oh, friend, what makes you and me and Nancy capable to serve is not our own strength or talents, it is God’s strength. Nancy does not have her hearing, but God has gifted her with working hands that, by his grace and strength, can wrap up and package encouraging letters to people with disabilities. If you have a disability, don’t let that keep you from helping others. There’s a place you can serve at joniandfriends.org.
