Even the smallest acts of love, service, or prayer can have eternal impact. God can multiply a single day into a thousand years’ worth of influence!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In 2 Peter 3:8, the apostle says, “…do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” Now we’ve all heard the adage that God looks at the last 2,000 years as a couple of days gone by, but what about viewing each day as a thousand years? In God’s great wisdom, he can take one day of your life and give it a thousand years’ worth of impact. We should never underestimate even the smallest opportunities to serve others in the name of Jesus. Writing a note, making a call, helping with a task, or offering a sympathetic, listening ear may resound more to God’s glory than you and I could possibly imagine. And investing a few minutes in heartfelt prayer for someone is far, far mightier than we might comprehend. In fact, the echoes roll on forever. So, invest in a thousand years’ worth of eternity today.
