Don’t complain and you’ll shine like a star to your friends in the dark.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I am very aware that people are watching me. Sure, it’s because of my wheelchair and my quadriplegia. But they are really looking at my response to these things. Like some of my neighbors, ones who don’t know Christ; they look at me and are amazed that I do not complain about my wheelchair. And you know what? By God’s grace, I don’t. Because I do not want them to think, Yeah, she’s a Christian, but she grumbles like everybody else; she’s no different. Look, I want them to be convicted by my uncomplaining spirit. Philippians 2 says “Do everything without complaining so that you may become blameless… without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars.” Not complaining speaks volumes about Christ to our dark world. So today, don’t complain and you will shine like a star to your friends in the dark.
