If you are struggling, hold on to this lifeline: Jesus will fulfill his promise of completing in you a good work.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. After I was paralyzed for a year or so, and just beginning to come up out of my depression, a friend gave me Philippians 1:6. It was a powerful promise stating that “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Wow. That Bible verse was, for me, a life preserver, because I had been drowning in depression for way too long! And so, I held fast to Philippians 1:6, and I kept quoting it back to the Lord, asking him to fulfill his promise of completing in me a good work. And you know what? He did, and he’s still doing it. He is completing the image of Jesus Christ in my life, giving me more and more peace, more satisfaction, and more joy in him. So, if you’re struggling, let me throw you a lifeline: let Philippians 1:6 be an unshakeable anchor for your life.
