When you look after the needs of others, you will be blessed!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Philippians 2 tells us not to look at our own interests but to the interests of others. But that doesn’t always come easy for children. It’s why I was so pleased to hear how 13-year-old Alyssa cares for her older sister Taylor who has cerebral palsy. Alyssa wrote me, saying, “Joni … My sister, Taylor, can’t do many things most people can do, like brushing her teeth, getting dressed, or even cleaning—cleaning, something all of us hate to do, but she would love to be able to do it—so I like to help her. I actually feel blessed to have someone that looks up to me to help her with everyday things.” Wow! What an example young Alyssa is setting for us all! Is there someone you know who needs a little extra help? Well, take it from Alyssa: when you look after the needs of another—maybe a single mom or an elderly neighbor—you will be blessed! Just ask Alyssa.
