Today, look to the Apostle Paul as an example. Don’t allow discouraging circumstances to get you down. Instead, fight the good fight – despite the disappointments!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, the book of Acts records the golden days of Paul’s ministry. He was freed from jail by an angel; people were getting saved; things were really looking up! But in 2 Timothy, it’s a different story. You suddenly see a softer side, a more needy side of Paul. He writes in the fourth chapter, “… I am being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith...” You know you can almost hear the change of tone in his voice. That’s because Paul wrote 2 Timothy while he was in jail. But this time there was no miracle in the jail cell. There was no angel who came to rescue him. But the old apostle did not allow discouraging circumstances to get him down. So, today, look at Paul as an example. Agree with him and keep fighting the good fight despite your disappointments.
