Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I am keenly aware that much of my health and well-being depends on the graciousness of family, coworkers and friends. They are constantly doing things for me: helping me get up in the morning or go to bed at night, doing my makeup, running errands, emptying my leg bag. And at work, others have to fix my lunch, get stuff out of the printer, get books off the shelf, and so much more. And to each of these dear people I say an enthusiastic and heartfelt “thank you!” First Thessalonians 5 says, “In everything give thanks.” Well, guess what: I pretty much do that – and my wheelchair necessitates it. See why I consider my disability such a blessing? Look, you don’t have to be in a wheelchair to cultivate a habit of thankfulness. Today, look around at the many people who help you, then be quick to say thank you. It’ll bless them and you.
