A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Be Thankful in Christ

Episode Summary

Appreciating the people who support you—big or small—is not only thoughtful, it’s God’s will for your life in Christ.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, as a quadriplegic, I depend upon the help of others to be my “hands” and my “feet.” And with all the care my husband and friends offer me, it is so important that I put effort into showing them appreciation. So, how do I care for my caregivers? Well, by doing simple things like remembering the birthday of my coworker who often grabs me lunch, or commenting on my husband’s perfectly cooked asparagus, or having a sense of humor when things don’t go as expected. First Thessalonians 5 says it’s God’s will for us in Christ Jesus to give thanks. Now, you may not have a disability like me, but we all receive help on a regular basis. So today, please show appreciation for that special home-cooked meal, or thank a friend for that encouraging Facebook post, or thank the supermarket clerk for bagging your groceries. Why? It’s God’s will, In Christ, for you to be thankful.
