Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And don’t you love summertime sunsets? To sit on the beach, watch the vivid colors of lilac and pink. It is beautiful! But then, suddenly, just as the color is at its peak it vanishes, just like that! You know, as I get older, I’ve come to realize that life is like a sunset; before you know it, it’s gone in a flash. It’s why we must treasure timeless moments. Amy Carmichael once said, “We will have all of eternity to celebrate the victories and only a few hours before sunset in which to win them.” So today, speak the name of Jesus to a co-worker, a neighbor, or the clerk at the register. Ephesians 5 says to “Be very careful, [not just careful, but very careful] then, how you live—not unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” Friend, soon the sun will have set, time is running out, so today, make the most of every opportunity.
