If you’re struggling with bitterness, ask God to do a new thing in your life. Jesus is always, always better than being bitter.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In Uganda, landmines continue to be a major cause of disabilities – take Odong. He was out hunting with a relative when he stepped on a landmine. As a result, he not only lost his leg; Odong lost all hope. For months this young man was consumed with bitterness, thinking God had abandoned him. Well, our Wheels for the World team understood that a pair of crutches could help Odong, but that wouldn’t solve his bitterness. That’s why we were overjoyed when Odong received Jesus. He now has peace in his heart because Isaiah 43 assures him that, “[God] is doing a new thing! … [The Lord] is making a way in the wilderness.” This young Ugandan is now finding his way. So, learn a lesson from his story. If you’re struggling with bitterness, ask God to do a new thing in your life. Because Jesus is always, always better than being bitter.
