As Philippians 3 says, forget what is behind you and strain toward what is ahead. Make that your new norm today.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and have you ever felt like your life is out of control? Well, let me tell you about Danielle and her perspective on that. Not long ago, she was driving, and she hit black ice, and her car rolled over in a ditch – she was able to rescue her two daughters, but only with a crushed hand. And when she arrived at the hospital, it was clear she would even lose her hand. Danielle took a deep breath. And so did her family. In fact, last year in their Christmas letter, the family said, “We have a new norm here in Oregon and it unfolds daily.” Danielle’s story underscores that we all face new norms when tragedy hits. It’s why Philippians 3 says, “…one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead…the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” And friend, today, that may be your new norm.
