Hear Joni talk about the deeper meaning behind the phrase: “God bless you!” Pass on a blessing today to others around you who need his touch.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And we say it all the time to each other, “God bless you.” And if you’re like me, you mean it – you really do. And God means it, too. He wants to bless his children. Like when you open the Bible, the first thing God does as you read, is to bless you. The very first Psalm is all about the man God blesses. It says, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.” Blessed is that person. Oh friend, it is God's disposition to bless you. He is inclined to shower pleasure and gladness on your dry, shriveled soul. It’s something God delights to do out of the greatness of his heart. So, my blessed friend, pass it on today! May it be in your disposition to bless others; let it be the measure of your character as you extend God's blessings and shower favor and mercy on those all around you, who need his touch.
