Boast in Your Weakness

Episode Summary

Boast in your weakness and glory in your limitations – then Christ’s power rests on you!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The Bible makes much of weakness. It is constantly driving home the point that we are weak, and God is strong. He is able and we are not. But then we come across the very interesting wording in 1 Corinthians 12:22 where it says, “… those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable.” Did you catch that? Weak people: that is, people who suffer; people who are driven to the end of themselves; people who lack brains and brawn, or gifts and talents, they only seem to be weaker. On the surface, they do, indeed, appear frail and feeble! But wait! They are in the best position to apprehend the power of God. Second Corinthians 12 says that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. So, do what the Apostle Paul did: boast in your weakness and glory in your limitations, for then Christ’s power rests on you!
