Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You may or may not remember, but back in the 70s, there was a song named “Woodstock” with a line that said, “We’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.” People would look at the Garden of Eden as though it were “the good ol’ days”—full of innocence, peace, bliss. But “back in the garden,” we disobeyed, introducing sin and death into our world. Thankfully though, God has a plan to give us more than Adam or Eve ever had. 2 Corinthians 5 says that as believers in Jesus, we are a brand-new creation. You and I have gone beyondAdam and Eve’s state of temporary happiness; hey, we don’t need to get back innocence; God gives us his righteousness. And there’s nothing temporary about that.
