Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And in the mid-1990s, during North Korea’s great famine, disabled people did not receive food rations because they weren’t able to work. They were considered non-productive members of society and so had to fend for themselves. Most starved to death. Others became more disabled from malnutrition. And sadly, not a lot has changed. North Korea continues to be under a brutal dictatorship, and it is the elderly, the frail and the weak who suffer most. It’s why I’m asking you today to join me in praying for the leaders of our world, especially in places like North Korea. Proverbs 21 says that “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; [God] turns it wherever he will.” Please pray that the Lord will transform the hearts of harsh leaders like Kim Jong-un. Pray for the success of the Gospel and for the well-being of the weak under dictatorships around the world.
