This light and momentary affliction you’re going through right now is preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. There are layers of good in your trials too.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and if you know me, you know I'm always talking about the good things that can come out of hardship. And my own wheelchair has taught me this. In fact, the older in the Lord I get, the greater the layers of good I see. The devil may have meant my broken neck for evil, but God meant it for good. For the good of my faith in that it’s been strengthened and refined. God has meant my disability for greater righteousness, in that I’ve left behind me, stubbornness and bitterness. God has meant it for greater hope, in that my excitement about heaven is more buoyant and bright. And finally, God has meant it for the greater experience of glory, for this light and momentary affliction is preparing for me an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. And, friend, there are layers of good in your trials, too. So, today, that’s something to really thank God for.
