You may be weak, but you live by God’s power.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I love the way that Jesus was always thinking of others. He after all, he came not to be served, but to serve. He even did that when he was in agony on the cross. I mean there he was, thinking of others; reaching out to the thief crucified next to him. This example is so helpful to those of us who feel we are too sick, too disabled, or too weak to be thinking about others or caring for their needs. May it never be! Second Corinthians 13:4 tells us, “For to be sure, [Jesus] was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him to serve you.” True, you may be weak; you may be frail and elderly or disabled like me, but like Jesus, you and I live by God’s power. And what’s more, we live with him in order to serve others – just like our wonderful Savior did 2,000 years ago and today!
