No matter what the score on the gameboard of your life looks like today, keep striving in hope!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my husband Ken coached high school football for many years, and I would often hear him talk about kids who were really, really good on the field, and those who weren’t. To him, the good athletes were the ones who, in the face of overwhelming odds, would still play hard. No matter what the scoreboard said, they would keep pushing themselves. They stayed hopeful. But there were other kids who would look at that uneven score up on the gameboard and they’d give up. They would fail to play with hope. Ken said that that kind of attitude really corroded good character. You know, Ecclesiastes 9 puts it this way, “Where there is life there is hope.” Oh, friend, come on, where there is life there is hope. So, no matter what the score on the gameboard of your life looks like today, keep striving. You are called to be hopeful.
