Just as you eagerly express love to someone you adore, you should openly share your love and affection with God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I wonder, have you ever been in love? Oh, you know how it feels – your heart grows faint, your breathing short just picturing the soft eyes and tender smile of the one you adore. And the thought of a kiss and embrace – you all but melt. When you are in love, one thing is for certain: you just can’t keep it to yourself. You have to tell that special person, “I love you.” And it’s the same way in expressing our love for God. We just can’t keep it to ourselves. Even Solomon in the book of Songs 5, describes God as “altogether lovely” and the “Lily of the Valley” and the “fairest of ten thousand.” Oh, friend, that is love language, and it shows that our affections for God just have to find a voice, an outlet, an expression for all that’s in our heart. So today, tell Jesus you love him. It’s what the lover of your soul longs to hear.
