Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I am so grateful for accessibility laws. But although laws may change buildings, the real change is needed in peoples’ hearts, isn’t it? Well, my friend Taka who lives in Japan knows this very well. Taka is a quadriplegic and for years he has kindly asked his favorite shops in town to construct accessible ramps – ramps that are mandated by law in his country. But even though Taka was persistent, the shopkeepers never invested the time or the money in providing ramps. So what did Taka’s friends do? They started a ministry of building portable ramps – and together with Taka, they went throughout town and presented these portable ramps to the shopkeepers. The townspeople were amazed! And what a powerful witness this was to them of the love of Christ! Friend, will you join me in praying for a change of hearts in your town? Because only he can give everyone in town a heart for the disabled. Just ask Taka.
