Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Bart and Nancy have a son with significant disabilities. And for a time, they felt overwhelmed and isolated. Often, they were not included in social invitations; they just felt so alone. But when Bart and Nancy attended their first Joni and Friends Family Retreat, everything changed. Nancy said, “We have finally found a community of families who are going through the same thing and experiencing the same feelings.” The best part is, Nancy and Bart stay connected with those same families throughout the rest of the year, and they always sign up the following summer for the next retreat.
