Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and don’t you think it’s fascinating that the Bible begins in a garden – Eden – and it ends with another garden where there’s a river and a Tree of Life? Gardens mean something in Scripture. When God says in Song of Solomon 5:1, “I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride,” He’s referring that the heart of a believer in Christ, is Christ’s Garden. Such a garden is separate from natural, ordinary growth – it’s not a wilderness; it is cultivated and maintained. A garden is also walled in; it’s a place of orderly beauty that far surpasses the wild bushes beyond its boundaries. A garden is also a place of growth – no believer remains an undeveloped bud; rather, new life blossoms there. Best of all, a garden is a place of respite. Would Christ be welcomed in your heart’s garden? Today, may God send showers of blessing your way to water the garden of your heart.
