A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Collapse into the Arms

Episode Summary

Let Jesus carry your burdens.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and it has been almost 15 years since I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. Praise God, I am now cancer free. But I still live with some of the effects of cancer and cancer treatment – I still pray the same prayer I did when I first heard that scary word, “cancer.” My prayer is from Psalm 79, “Oh Lord, may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need.” Oh friend, this life isn’t easy. There’s cancer, broken marriages, lost jobs, wayward children, insomnia, identity theft, drugs, dementia, death and we are in desperate need of help. So, if today you find yourself in desperate need; if you feel utterly helpless, collapse into the arms of God, the helper of your soul. Let Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, carry your burden. Give thanks for the Spirit, your comforter. And be encouraged: God’s mercy will come quickly to meet you.
