Compassionate Examples

Episode Summary

When you reach out to kids with disabilities, you’re not only a role model to them, but also the community.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And not long ago, I saw a video of a little girl’s wish come true by the Chicago Blackhawks. Little Cammy was born with Rett syndrome and is unable to walk or speak. But Cammy loves watching hockey, especially when the Chicago Blackhawks are on the ice. It’s why when her mom and dad heard of the team’s “What’s Your Goal” campaign, they shared Cammy’s wish to someday skate on ice and score a goal. Well, what happened next was way beyond what her family expected. Not only did this little girl meet her favorite player, defenseman Duncan Keith—Cammy got to go out on the ice with Keith, score a goal, and even take a selfie to post on her Facebook page! Titus 2 encourages us to be compassionate examples to others. So, remember, when you reach out to kids with disabilities, you are a role model to them and to the community.
