Even when you’re exhausted by life’s challenges, you can press on and keep up the pursuit by God’s grace.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Recently, Ken and I got back from a very busy week of travel. We were so tired, but we were committed to reading Scripture every day and so, although we were tired, we opened up our Bibles, to the book of Judges. And guess what we found? In chapter 8, verse 4, it says: “Gideon and his three hundred men, exhausted yet keeping up the pursuit, came to the Jordan and crossed it.” Don’t you love that? Gideon’s troops were exhausted; completely worn out and yet they kept up the pursuit. Don't you love that? It’s a short, but potent little lesson about pressing on, especially when our circumstances are hard and painful. And it was just what Ken and I needed to hear. So, friend, whether you’re exhausted from travel, the battles of chronic pain, or worn out from the day-to-day routines of parenting—remember that you, too, can press on by the grace of God. Keep up the pursuit!
