Deliver Me

Episode Summary

Ask the Lord to incline your heart, master your will, and do whatever it takes to keep you trusting and fearing until Jesus comes.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I often find myself praying for endurance. My quadriplegia and struggle with pain have a lot to do with it, but so does the command in Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering.” And elsewhere, Jesus says: “Hold fast… Until I come.” Oh, friend, blessed is the man who endures under trial, for he will receive the crown of life. Just how do I pray for endurance? I ask God to keep me, preserve me and defeat every rising rebellion or doubt in my heart. I ask God to deliver me from temptation to complain. I ask him to crush the camera when I start running mental movies of my successes. And you can do the same. Ask the Lord to incline your heart, master your will, and do whatever must be done to keep you trusting and fearing until Jesus comes or calls. It’s the way to pray for endurance.
