Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And the other day at the deli I ran into a special-needs mother who has a 21-year-old daughter with autism, her name is Holly. Up until this year, there were all sorts of educational and recreational programs for Holly. But not now. Those programs disappear when a special-needs young person reaches adulthood. Thankfully, this mom is joining with other mothers to help develop learning programs and fun activities for their adult children with developmental disabilities. And the cool thing is? They are using church facilities during the weekdays. I mean, after all, most of a church building sits empty during the week – why can’t it be used as a place for fun and learning for young adults with disabilities? Galatians 6:10 says do good to everyone, especially in the household of faith. So, find ways you can do good to disabled young people by visiting joniandfriends.org. Again, that’s joniandfriends.org.
